CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

Our team is looking for a full-time Construction Manager who is comfortable working in a dynamic, fast paced environment.

The project we are hiring for is located in Vaughan, Ontario.  The construction of this green field industrial terminal is expected to start Q4, 2021 and run until Q4, 2022.  Shift work, living away from home, and commuting is expected.  This position is expected to be a contractor position, where the individual will supply their own computer and cell phone, however this is not required.

Required Skills:

  • Maintain safety on site, ensuring all Tri Innovation’s safety policies and procedures are followed;

  • Build relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization and be able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines;

  • Oversee all site crews including but not limited to subtrades, operators, labourers, flaggers and contractors;

  • Liaise with Project Managers to ensure work is being carried out according to the scope of work as sold;

  • On-site implementation and monitoring of the Health and Safety Programs;

  • Supervise all excavation, remediation, and construction activities on site, ensuring all tasks are completed on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with Tri Innovations safety policies;

  • Supervise the handling and transport of contaminated materials;

  • Confirming maintenance checks has been completed on tools/equipment, loading and unloading equipment;

  • Data tracking and reporting;

  • Ensure documentation is completed in the field in a timely manner and in accordance with project requirements;

  • Oversee and ensure the successful coordination of inspections, investigations and occupational health and safety activities;
     

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience with an emphasis on the areas of industrial supervision, planning, and construction management

  • Valid industry safety tickets (H2S, First Aid, WHMIS, and CSTS);

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract;

  • Candidates must be able to work overtime with the flexibility to travel.  Ability to work shifts;

  • Superior communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential for this position;

  • Ability to build relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization is essential, as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines;

  • Proficiency with computers and MS Office software;

  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing business needs;
