Kurt Findlay, P.Eng.

President and Chief Executive Officer

Kurt Findlay, co-founder and a driving force behind Tri Innovations, upholds the firm’s core values of health and safety, quality, integrity, and collaboration. With his engineering background and a commitment to leadership, he guides the company towards innovation and diversified growth, ensuring excellence in every project.

In line with Tri Innovations’ covenants, Kurt places a strong emphasis on understanding client needs through active listening and transparent communication. He advocates for continuous improvement by learning from feedback and applying industry best practices. His approach fosters a team-oriented environment where diverse talents come together to deliver sustainable and high-quality engineering solutions.

Alan Roberts, P.Eng.

Founder and Chief Financial Officer

Alan Roberts has 17 years of mechanical engineering and project development experience in relation to facility design. Alan has developed and executed multiple rail related terminals involving transloading numerous commodities including, diesel, gasoline, ethanol, propane, crude oil, condensate, sulphur, sulphuric acid in North America and overseas. 

As one of the founders of Tri Innovations, Alan has guided the long-term objectives and goals of the organization while managing the company’s overall risk. With Alan’s technical knowledge and vast business experience, he understands the integral relationship between project execution and the underlying commercial viability of a project.

Pejman Mannani, P.Eng., MBA

Chief Operating Officer

Pejman is a professional engineer with over 20 years of experience encompassing the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors of the energy industry.  His breadth of experience includes engineering, project engineering, project management and business development for both brownfield and greenfield projects.  

Pejman has executed projects with over a dozen major oil and gas companies on projects ranging in size from $25,000 to over $5 billion from concept to completion.

The key objective for Pejman is to build a high performing team tasked with understanding client needs and drivers.  Pejman believes that innovative solutions can be effectively delivered when the client and the Tri Innovations teams are aligned on objectives and success factors. 

Greg Snell, P.Eng.

Director of Engineering

Greg has over 25 years of experience in the Engineering Services industry across Oil & Gas, Mining, and Environmental Industries in engineering and corporate roles.

Greg brings an Instrumentation and Controls Engineering background with experience in all phases of engineering and design development, site construction support and plant commissioning and start-up. 

Projects range from studies to pilot plants to facilities, to major projects exceeding $1 billion in both greenfield and brownfield contexts.

Trent Knutson, P.Tech. (Eng.)

Business Development Manager

Trent brings over 12 years of experience in technical sales with a focus on finding the best value for our clients.  

Holding a P.Tech.(Eng.) certification with capabilities in instrumentation engineering, Trent holds extensive knowledge in the design and inspection of various instrumentation and the routine application of industry codes, standards, procedures, and practices. 

Trent is familiar with a wide range of industrial process equipment for the Oil & Gas, Transportation, Petrochemical and Mining industries and is responsible for leading the Business Development team and implementing strategies that focus on continual growth.

Jarvis Schmid, P.Eng.

Program Manager – Midstream

Jarvis is a seasoned Program Manager specializing in Midstream projects. Renowned for his exceptional leadership and expertise in the gas sector, and bringing more than 18 years of experience, Jarvis has navigated the complexities of midstream operations, demonstrating a profound understanding of gas-related projects from conception to execution, and management of change scopes.

Serving as a trusted liaison between project stakeholders and ensuring clear communication channels, Jarvis brings the ability to understand client needs and preferences, which allows him to tailor solutions that meet and exceed expectations. This client-centric approach has consistently resulted in high levels of satisfaction and long-term partnerships with our clients. 

Jarvis’ leadership approach is characterized by collaboration and inclusivity, fostering a culture of teamwork and innovation within his teams, and he is committed to excellence, upholding principles of quality, integrity, and safety in every aspect of his work.

Jarvis holds a key understanding of the physical and chemical properties of natural gases, having completed the University of Calgary’s ENCH 607 Natural Gas Processing Principles course.

In his role as Program Manager – Midstream, Jarvis will leverage his knowledge of Natural Gas Liquids (NGLs), Carbon Capture and Sequestering (CCS), CAFO / Biogas Processing and Renewables to present clients with value-add solutions across the project lifecycle.
